synth

in the beginning i started with a spacey sounding synth with simple drums. there is a simple bass synth in the backround. then there is a transition to the bass part. the bass is only accompinied by the drums. the drums and bass go well together as well as with the rest of the song. then it goes back to the beginning of the song.in my synth i used a saw wave which i tweaked very much. i messed with the half and even buttons above the wave picture. i also played with the sliders on the sde of the wave. for this synth i used operater 1 at 100%, filter 1 at 100%, and FX and output at 75%. for the FX i used the cutoff frequency with an automation clip. the bass synth i got off of a preset in sytrus but i tweaked the the chorus order. the first four measures of the drums were created by me and then the rest of the song are by the FPC. i used aaba form for this loop with 8 measures per part. the first part has a busy main synth and drums with a plain low bass the second part is very busy but the transition is slow then the song goes back to the beginning and then ends.

this is my loop i had some trouble with the trasition for the 2 parts of the song but i eventually got it to flow. the base and drums are simple which helps better display the synth.

In this vovoder project i had a lot of trouble with the vocoder but in the end i found the right mix. it starts with simple cymbals and a little synth piece. then the singing starts with a flanged pulse . the voice is still there though so you can hear the singing. then the sitar comes in with a simple 3 note riff. then it fades out with the starting cymbals and synth.

vovoder

all of the instruments are done in my loop but i cant seem to get the adio clip to run through the vocoder. next class ill probably just try to get my audio clip to run through a different vocode and vodode it and replace the clips that i had.

i had some trouble keeping my drum loop simple because it was only drums and nothing else. i finally ended up going with a simple but fun drum loop.i started off with a simple drum loop that you would probably hear a pretty close version of in a lot of songs that you might listen to. it has the hi-hat and snare and a little bit of kick. in the first drum fill i used the toms and base drum to convert from a mainly hi hat centered beat to one revolving around the ride cymbals. the next fill is basicallly the second drum beat with a little extra on top. then it goes back to the beggining.

in the beginning of this test i started of with a piano like sounding guitar and basic drums. the guitar was chopped and the drums had a funky reeverb on them. after the first section the guitar switched to a rythm with three slow chords and did a run of notes wchich sounded cool. the drums varied a little but didnt change to much. in the effects i used the master volume to fade in and out. i also used an unnoticable clip automation with the guitar feed back.
